Laarni N. Huliganga defines teaching as a life, a mission and a God-given responsibility to serve Him and fellowmen.
As a Home economics Master Teacher of Agusan National High School of Butuan City, she devotes her time and effort for skills development not only for her students but also for her teachers. She spearheaded several skills and in-service trainings and served as a demonstration teacher and resource person in her areas of expertise. She also introduced significant instructional materials on several skills using local materials in the division of Butuan City and conducted action research on "Teachers Attitude Towards Mentoring Program in Technology and Livelihood Education" to identify the training needs of TLE teachers as her basis for programs and projects. As if these are not enough, she coordinates the livelihood in Barangay Libertad in Butuan City.
She is a consistent winning coach and trainer on table setting and skirting in the school, division and national level.
It is nice to know that as technology advances, there are teachers who cope up with these advancement. They do not just rely on the things that they grew up knowing. They still find ways to seek for new things which they can provide for their students. We cannot deny the fact that their are still teachers who still stick to the old ways of teaching. We are not saying that it is already ineffective to be used. It's just that it is over-used, and in a way, it seems to be left behind by the others and in in some ways, the information fed are somewhat not attached to the newest fact that the advance-world is giving us.
And with this, we should give acknowledgments and a two-thumbs up to the teachers who strive hard in order to meet the needs of their learners in this technology-ruled world that we have right now.
